The Chemistry of Life Processes Institute (CLP) has teamed up with JourneyCare to provide Northwestern faculty, students and staff an opportunity to give to children who are affected by many of the diseases CLP and Northwestern are researching.

The drive runs from October 1 through November 30, 2017. Find how you can give here.

JourneyCare All About Kids is a pediatric palliative care and hospice program that provides comprehensive, specialized care, focusing on relieving pain and managing symptoms, while keeping life as normal as possible for the pediatric patient and family. The program currently has just over 200 pediatric palliative care and hospice patients.

JourneyCare’s child life specialists help young patients and their families deal with the emotions, fears and questions surrounding serious illness, while providing coping strategies and emotional support.
Through age-appropriate play and self-expression activities, their child life specialists help the patient and siblings to convey their fears, get answers to confusing questions or just keep being children. Materials purchased and donated would benefit not only their pediatric palliative care and hospice patients, but also their patients’ siblings, potentially impacting roughly 600 children in all.
