Douglas E. Vaughan, MD

Irving Cutter Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine; Member of Cardiovascular Research Institute

Dr. Vaughan's practice has focused on the management and treatment of patients with coronary artery disease. He is also interested in the diagnosis and management of arterial thrombosis. HIs research interests align with these clinical interests. Dr. Vaughan's primary investigative focus is and has been on the mammalian plasminogen activator system and the role this system plays in cardiovascular disease. His group applies a multidisciplinary approach in this effort, and utilize molecular and cellular approaches, as well as animal and human studies.
