John Tran received his PhD from Dalhousie University (Canada) in 2008, where his thesis was focused on designing proteomics separation devices. Afterwards, he performed his post-doctorate research at University Illinois and Northwestern University (Neil Kelleher Lab). Currently, he has been leading a group of 8 bioanalytical chemists focused on large molecule drug discovery at Genentech Research. Project support includes screening, pharmacology characterization and lead optimization of therapeutics. His research interest is developing cutting-edge analytical tools to push the limitations in detection for driving drug discovery.
